The RS-VH has been designed for the accurate installation of
pipe systems ranging from 660mm OD up to 1,000mm OD by conventional auger
boring being equipped with bi-directional steering.
The RS-VH has two sets of steering jacks which enable
movement of the unit in both the horizontal and vertical direction all being
controlled at the auger boring rig by means of a joy stick control which
receives information from inclinometers mounted around the pipe steering
section.
The RS-VH is simply set up in the auger boring machine to
line and level then the inclinometers are set to zero on a screen at the controls,
as the pipe is bored forward the operator steers the pipe keeping the reading
on zero thus following the correct line and grade.
Further to this an optical electronic target is mounted
inside the cutting head which displays onto a conventional pilot guided auger
boring navigation system further increasing accuracy.
The system can be equipped with various cutting head
configurations to suit most ground conditions.
